GWScope CD image: This CD ISO image replaces the CD that is supplied with Greenwood Technical test equipment.
The Greenwood SuperShooter: Plenty of tools for examining and repairing a computer, including partitioning, system testing, file management, and standard Windows utilities. Zip file contains self-extracting floppy image and Readme.txt.
The Greenwood Hardware-Detector: This disk, based on Craig Hart’s PCI programs, will detect and list all the hardware inside a computer. Great for building new systems, troubleshooting, or identifying hardware you need to find drivers for. Has two scan settings; Basics, which gives a short summary of the hardware, or Hi-Detail, which offers in-depth information for the serious technician. After unzipping the files, see the PCI.doc for Craig Hart's full documentation. Zip file contains self-extracting floppy image, PCI.doc, and Readme.txt.
XP/2000 Boot: If you have a Windows XP or 2000 system that won’t boot, try this disk. It will initiate the boot sequence, allowing the system to start. A menu also gives options for Safe Mode boot, writing a Boot Log (Ntbtlog.txt, found in the WINNT or WINDOWS folder) for tracing driver problems, or bypassing the video drivers for display troubleshooting. Zip file contains self-extracting floppy image and Readme.txt.
ZFix for Zone Alarm: If you are having trouble updating or installing the Zone Alarm firewall, with error messages such as "Validation failed for..." any number of dlls, or that the True Vector Monitor can't shut down, etc., here is the solution. If you were already using Zone Alarm, uninstall it. There's a mess of files and folders you must now delete. ZoneLabs gives lengthy instructions on how to do that, but ZFix does it automatically. Download and unzip the CMD file zfix.zip, then run it. It'll clean all traces of any old installation from your system, and you can now run a fresh installation with no problem.
GWTCleaner: The standard Windows disk cleaning program, and most third party cleaners, don't catch everything. Useless temporary files can build up in the Windows folder, for example. Some programs create a Temp folder on your main drive. And Windows doesn't really clean out the Temporary Internet Files. All this can take up a lot of your hard drive space. Also, a lot of malware likes to reside in these files. This small program picks up where the others leave off, finding and deleting these leftovers. GWTCleaner will only delete temporary files, not Cookies or History.
